Pedra Bonita is mostly known as the hang-gliding and paragliding headquarter of Rio. At the higher section of this mountain is located the hang-gliding departure ramp. We will take you even higher in a 40 minutes hike to the summit of Pedra Bonita. The views at the summit are astonishing. From the 2200 feet summit (695mts) you will be facing the massive Pedra da Gavea Mountain and the endless Atlantic Ocean. If you look east, you will be able to see the Favela of Rocinha and the Two Brother Mountains (2 Irmãos) looking small from where we stand. Looking west you will find Barra da Tijuca, an early built area of the city that started to flourish in the 70ths and now represents one of the most developed and modern areas of the city. After our hike we will stop at the hang-gliding departure ramp and check what is like flying in this incredible city!
